More and more people are resolving their family conflicts outside of court, and to Mike Richey, that’s a great thing. A Collaborative Divorce Attorney, as well as an SCAO Approved Domestic Relations Mediator, Mr. Richey believes that discussing these sensitive matters outside of court is a much better way to resolve family disputes than through traditional litigation.
Mr. Richey is a solo practice attorney with offices in downtown Traverse City. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Michigan State University in 1999, and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2002.
He is admitted to practice in Michigan and Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
In 2008, and again in 2010, Mr. Richey received a Certificate in Family Law from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. At the time he first received the Certificate, less than 100 attorneys in Michigan had attained the distinction. Also in 2008, Mr. Richey was named to the “Rising Stars” list by Michigan Super Lawyers magazine, an honor that recognizes the top 2.5% of all attorneys under the age of 40 in Michigan.
In 2008, 2009, and again in 2010, Mr. Richey was named to the “40 Under 40″ list by the Traverse City Business News, a distinction that annually identifies the 40 most influential people under the age of 40 in the Grand Traverse region.
Mr. Richey strongly believes that the hiring of an attorney is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisements. If you would like more information about his experience or qualifications, please contact him directly:
